Nestling below the mass of Buckden Pike (702m / 2,303ft), Buckden is the last sizeable village that you pass on the way up Wharfedale. There is a shop, village restaurant and the well-known Buck Inn pub.
West Winds is an old stone cottage in an attractive and peaceful village at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. We aim to make staying at West Winds more than just a bed for the night. When you arrive, we provide a complimentary pot of tea and home-made cake in our tearooms. In the morning we serve a choice of breakfast options, including a full cooked breakfast (English or vegetarian), home-made beans on toast and a selection of Yorkshire cheeses, all served in our tearooms. Our position on the Dales Way also makes the location just right for a one-night stop. In our tearooms we serve Lunch, Afternoon Tea and High Tea or Early Dinner (last orders 6pm in summer), so our guests don’t have to look far for somewhere to eat.
